These flowers were blooming at the base of a step of stairs leaving Monet's house's kitchen. Wallflowers are an old-fashioned flower that you don't find often, and seeing them there made a connection for me...Monet worked to create beauty. He must have weeded, pruned, pulled out random starters, and planned color combinations for his flower beds. I do the same thing...with my garden and my art.
